Taskforce Meeting 24 Oct 2025; 9.30-10.30

RN prescribing & NP scope & education standards consultation due 24 Oct 2025

1. Finalised submission from taskforce. Sue to submit today. Great to have input from Chelsea re NPNZ concerns and aligning with ours.

Chelsea also noted the issue of how tertiary ed needs to deconstruct RN prescribers and reconstruct within a NP scope of practice.

2. Frances Hughes & Sharon Brownie begin on NCNZ in November. Jenny d/w Frances Hughes.

Jenny and Jos to set up regular meeting with Frances and call in others as required.

Formalise Taskforce

What we have so far:

Nursing Futures Taskforce is a voluntary leadership group of senior nurses concerned about nursing, nursing development and professional issues, seeking to provide informed responses on topical issues that impact nursing contribution to the health of our nation.

Next meeting:

• Visibility and point of connection for people outside of the Taskforce.

• Ability for others to join – widen membership.

• Terms of Reference.

• Perhaps widen statement.

Nursing Strategy

Jos happy to continue doing more work on this. Irish strategy seems strong and potentially a framework to follow.

Next meeting: Fri 7 Nov, 9.30am

SUE WILL BE AWAY. We need someone to host. If no-one from UoA end – Andrew, Helen, Josephine?? Then will need a new zoom link to be circulated.
